    Copying from XBox to WinXP

Post by IV_Mark_VI on Mon Aug 27, 2012 7:26 pm

So with a thread I saw on here on save game corruption... that got me worried.

So I formatted a USB device for the 360, inserted it, moved my save game to it (I can't copy it..??) and then plug it into my XP machine and... I can't see anything.

What's going on? Can a PC not see a USB drive formatted for XBox use?

Edit: I plugged it back into my 360, and I see all the data there.

If I click on "Properties" in XP it looks like 3.77MB is taken up and 3.17 MB are free; the Save Game profiles are 9MB so I guess the rest is formatting.

The USB stick I used was a 4GB stick, Kingston. It looks like I"m looking at the 'free' 3.17MB and not the Xbox formatted portion. Do you need special software?

Ok, got it. Just had to view hidden files/folders.

That being said, there is just "Data" from 0000 to 0005. I'll copy it all to make certain.

Copying 4GB of data for a 9MB save file! Anyone know if I have to do this? Ugh! So slow!

Heey Mark you need to copy the whole hidden folder which is called ''Xbox360'' ,

not just the files that are numbered 001/005.

It contains all savegames from all games that you copied onto it.

Yeah Unfortunately it will be a large file of several GBs.
