    Karmic justice: A tiny test I did

    Post by Opedak on Sat Aug 25, 2012 3:43 pm

    So, I decided to test some things for this spell. Nothing big, just using some hollows to attack me.

    One point I wanted to test is if you take damage through a shield that blocks less than 100% physical damage would activate it

    Short story, it does

    Long story is this.
    So I was testing this on the hollows in the parish, the ones between the church and the bonfire with Andre (Thats his name right :p), blocking with the spiked shield plus 10.
    After many hits, the hollow did not activate the spell. It just ran out, so I went to the balder knights.
    5-6 hits in total for them, using the spiked shield to activate it
    The difference? The hollow was deflecting, the knight was not. To further test this I grabbed the Grass crest shield. The knight, deflected more, and Karmic justice took a lot more hits to activate

    This needs some testing with players, but if it works like it did with NPCs, then blocking with a weapon, or any shield that doesn't block all physical damage should work, since I almost never see a player deflect ever in PVP against another player.

    Another side note, my damage with RTSR almost doubled from around 490, to 1111
    Thats with 43 faith, Ring of the suns firstborn on both explosions and using thorolund talisman (Yes, I know, I need to get a better one)

    An interesting note is for suicide Karmic Builds, since you die in the process anyway you activate your red tearstone ring no matter what, amplifying the damage greatly.

    It is? How so?
    Wait, does it not use my Talismans MAgic adjust if I don't have it out?

    @Tolvo
    Yep, but I want to actually use it in less than a suicidal manner.
    Or atleast figure it out enough so I can activate it on invaders when I co-op. >.>

    Well here's maybe a trick the you didn't know, but is incredibly hard to land.

    You can get it to activate on a BS, but of course it'll deal no damage. But, you can BS cancel the moment it would go off, causing you to be immune as it goes off.

    That sounds like a helpful trick. Also very very hard to do.

    @Wyrm

    Oh I see now. Thanks for the tip. All that requires is a simple slot change.

    Off-topic. I invaded you @ Painted World, but you escaped me by entering Priscy's fog gate. :x

    Were you that darkmoon that invaded me twice?
    Oh wait, no. Yeah, I was right next to the fog with a sunbro, killed her so I could invade more and not be invaded all the time myself
    Sorry. bounce

    I've tried, but no success. My reflexes aren't good enough, I guess.

    I can. Or could, rather, since I haven't had my PS3 set up in a while. I did it in PvE all the time, I didn't know it was possible in PvP cause of the lag, until I tried. Still gave me a phantom sound, though, so after 3 or 4, I'd get stunned. I usually liked putting away my shield anyway.

    to follow up on the tactics talk is anyone good with the pivot parry after a backstab? one of my favorite moves is to bs cancel then pull that when they go for the chain stab.

    Never done that. Seen it in some gameplay vids though. Always wanted to try, but I never remember haha!
