    Retail version and Steam?

    Post by Purity on Fri Aug 24, 2012 5:46 am

    So, I'm thinking of buying the retail version for the artbook etc, but I was reading on amazon that you can't activate it on steam?

    Has this been confirmed? I have been looking around but can't find anyone who can confirm it.

    Unlike a lot of people who apparently see steam as an hassle, I actually use it for my PC games so I want dark souls there (I know I can add it as a non-steam game, but it's not the same)

    Also, while we're at it, Steam version has achievements, right?

    Thanks in advance

    Hello Purity I have bought the retail version and was very disappointed because on the box it has the steam logo, however the code only works on games for windows live I really wish I could add it to my steam account D:

    Damn man sad

    That's terrible. I was hoping it was just rumours.. so, gotta pick between awesome artbook and having the game on steam.. ugh.

    Someone was saying his steam flashed when he installed his retail copy so that left me with some hope..

    This doesn't make much sense and is very terrible. I would've already bought the game through steam, but I really want the extras ; ;

    I have it on steam and I still need to sign in for GFWL.
    I also wanted the artbook and wanted to play via steam instead of GFWL. Wish Id knew more before purchasing it.
