Question for computer savvy people.

So I have a pretty average laptop that I use because I travel around a lot. A few of my friends are getting Guild Wars 2 and I wanted to know If it could run on this pc.

Everything passes except my dedicated video ram. My pc has 64mb where the minimum for gw2 is 256mb.

So how does video ram affect performance? Would I perhaps be able to run it in a lower resolution or on lower settings?

Video RAM is for the graphics card to store textures and stuff for quick and easy access. It's incredibly important to graphics intensive titles, more so then system RAM, and cannot be skirted.

Now whether or not you have enough depends on what the 256mb minimum means. Is that what it needs to run topped out? Optimum? Or minimum? If its minimum you're ***, if its optimum performance you can MAYBE get away with it, but I doubt it.

I think it's minimum. Guess I'll have to shell out some cash to fix my desktop and play at home. :x

If its minimum try and go above it. Typically meeting minimum requirements adds up to a poor experience

512 would be good. but yeah no chance on your laptop.
