Its just a glitch, its happened to everyone at least once or twice, whats really bizarre is invading as a white phantom lol

I've never had that happen all i had was using the blue and coming as a red

Iv put my white sign down and been summoned as dark spirit before.. and as Dragon spirit too.

I invaded a few people as a White Phantom yesterday. Seems to be a Glitch in the Forest Hunters to me.

Reasoning.

I joined the Forest Hunters for quick pvp, I was sitting in the forest with Ring of Steel and Dark Wood Grain ring on with my Soap Sign down for Co-op - Was not trying to invade and yet I did I invaded as both Blue and White Phantom a few times, once even got Souls when the host killed another Blue Phantom. All in all was pretty strange night in the forest

Has nothing to do with any place or covenant.

Glitches happen. Whether you are invading as a DW, or a DM, or co-oping is secondary....the server is first and foremost just trying to connect consoles.

happened to me twice, but both times i had my summon sign down, dried finger i guess? dont know exaclty how it works

Weird thing that happened to me, I was in Dark Anor Lando invading, and I got summoned to Dark Root as a Red Invader! Happened about a month ago, never mentioned it because I knew it was a glitch.

I have invaded twice when setting down the summon sign, without the use of any other online interactive tools, such as orbs and such. Both times were in the forest where the Butterfly's domain is, not the wolfs. I set the Summon Sign beside the Hydra, while I take my time killing the thing (a few minutes, but sometimes its far necked heads decide to attack away from me... annoying)

I have only invaded as a white phantom in the dragon covenant, but with the summon sign in the butterfly area, I invaded as a blue phantom on both trials.
