Vow of Yesness

I darkwraith every area in the game at levels 40 up to 120+. In my hundreds of hours doing this, I see all types of spells,weapons, shield choices used.

I was in Sens the other day on my level 50 guy catching hosts who were sandbagging the level in my opinion.

A guy jets to summon Tarkus as I expected him to. No matter, I will run past Tarkus on the bridge and kick the host off of the bridge...

As I pass Tarkus, this is when I notice a purple ring around my toon.

Host spams great fire balls/chaos at me while Tarkus is closing in from behind me.

After dodging a few, I panic and switch to my own chaos balls...uh oh..

The flame does nothing, I am stuck in a useless animation and boom..one shotted by Iron Tarkus.


This was the first time I have run into Vow of Silence and since then I have been working on a guy that uses this buff in addition to GMB/flash sweat when applicable.

Just wanted to share a story where I WASN'T the one who came out on top.

Ah, panicking.

I guess vow of silence does the same thing to casters what TWOP tends to do to the rest of the community. :\

Good point, but i am not sure if i agree with this.

TWOP and VoS are two completely different spells. One prevents running away (promotes backstabs), while the other prevents casts (promotes melee fighting).


VoS only lasts 30 seconds which I kind of dont like. Wish it was GMB or even longer as flash sweat is. i mean come on, it takes up 2 slots for 2 casts lol.

Getting the new toon ready today we will see how he fairs in Burg along with some forest pvp and random invasions

The problem is the casting itself. I never use to duel, but its very effective for invading

Carphil is right. In most of the FCs I participate in, magic is seldom used so it's usually unnecessary for me there. Unless i catch one of the twitch guy leaning a little too hard on that GC [b]

Most of my fights are from random invasions as Dw though and here it has saved my *** tons of times. Phantoms spamming wotg only to find themselves stunned and backstabbed. Hosts spamming pyro to the same fate and meeting up with my chaos Uchi or SLB Pole. This is one i have been using in catacombs/Totg lately[b]
