If I were to go +5 lighting and use fire arrows will it utilize both kinds of damage or just one or the other? Or is a +15 pharis bow with high dexterity really that good? Also while I'm asking is it possible to upgrade a shield with elemental defense?

PvE: If you have 40 dex nothing beats a +15 Black Bow...don't go elemental you will lose damage.
PvP: Go with composite bow...the damage is comparable to the black bow and the draw time is slightly faster..
