    Have it work like normal co-op, hosting needing to be human and everything.

    Then they usher in the second user on the console via a special soapstone.

    Player 2 is half the level of host and shares the inventory of the host.

    Then they can get killed or leave when they defeat a boss like normal phantoms, and give a cool down for the special item for summoning so you can't immediately resummon player 2 after they die.

    That would be a workable system.

    Splitscreen would be pretty terrible on this game....

    But it doesn't change the fact that players are easily able to voice chat if they want to. I really don't see a reason to deprive players of split screen if they wanted do, being that it is already so simple to get voice chat for online Co-op.

    They are already moving towards more voice chat by adding items that allow voice chat in the DLC.

    No they're adding items that allow audible messages. The rumor mill has pumped out some nonsense about voice chat but FROM has never said voice chat, they're adding in what was referred to as 'scream stones' that you throw down and they say something to your phantoms.

    DkS is not meant to have a friendly, talk to a friend while you are playing atmosphere. Its meant to be a cold unforgiving world where you can only communicate through gestures which arent entirely unambiguous. Split screen would ruin the experience the designers wanted.

    If Namco has it's way, they will grind any sense of lonliness that From has intended for the Souls Series into the ground. If split screen co-op will sell more units, then bet it will be included in future installments. Traditionally though, split screen does not result in boosted sales figures. While it may be a nice to have for some gamers, it rarely justifies the added development costs.

    I actually started a petition to get fromsoft to create a patch which would allow demon's souls on ps3 to be played via LAN. I would much rather have this than split screen on any souls game seeing as the servers will be going down... at some point.

    It might also further impact the performance of the game, since it has to render two different screens at the same time.

    I don't see it fitting for Dark Souls myself.

    Portal 2's cooperative campaign was a really fun experience to play splitscreen., I enjoyed it a lot more then the single player story.

    Hehe, would bring a whole new era of ganging... but realy dark souls is most likely one of the best rpg's out there and possibly the future of online rpg's for consoles so if idk bethesda makes a drs inspired game but adds voice chat, easy way to co-op and other **** id be happy, hell id buy it de day its released but dark souls is awesome and if you dont think that i have no idea wt de hell u doing hear and even if there is some glitches there eint **** we can do about it is there now... :roll:
